The April NFL Draft is here and the Bay area has produced many NFL talents in the past. This weekend, we'll see more aspiring players' names called to join the National Football League! 


1st Round Pick: Micheal Penix Jr -Atlanta Falcons

High School: Tampa Bay Tech  (Tampa, FL)

Previous College: Indiana University

Position: Quarterback

Outlook:MPJ's impressive resume speaks for itself. He had a remarkable senior campaign at the University of Washington, leading his team to an undefeated season and a shot at the National Championship. Penix finished second in the Heisman race and won the Maxwell award. He also leaves the university as the single-season all-time passing leader, having thrown for 4,461 yards..


2nd Round Pick: Jer'Zhan "Johnny" Newton - Washington Commanders

School: Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL)

Previous College:  University of Illinois

Position:Defensive Tackle

Outlook: Newton was a heralded standout Defensive tackle for the Fighting Illini. He impressed immensely from the very beginning and continued to improve each year. In his sophomore year, he recorded 50 tackles and 3.5 sacks. His hard work and dedication paid off as he went on to become a Consensus All-American during his time at the University of Illinois


 4th Round Pick: Tj Tampa - Baltimore Ravens

School: Lakewood High School (St.Petersburg, FL)

Previous College: Iowa state University

Position:Defensive back

Outlook:Tampa is a flashy defensive back who has proven his worth to the critics and has become one of the best players in this year's draft class. He was highly productive during his time at ISU, earning several accolades, including a spot on the 1st Team All-Big 12 and being on the watch list for both the Jim Thorpe Award and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy
